Over seeding

Grass cultivation has moved on greatly over the last few years with many of the leading cultivars being bred for specific requirements, such as shade, drought tolerance etc. We are able to utilise these professional grass species to give your lawn something extra. We over seed generally after scarification and will make other recommendations should we feel necessary.

Total weed control

We are able to apply professional products that will keep weeds off gravel drives and patios for over 12 months.

Hollow tine aeration

This is the systematic removal of cores or plugs from the surface of the lawn. Again, a very important part of any lawn maintenance. It would be advised to be done every year (discounts apply). This operation will reduce sub surface thatch, reduce compaction and allow surface drainage to improve. It is a vital key in ensuring nutrients can release correctly and will improve root structure.

 

 

Scarification

This operation is best done in spring or autumn. We use powered machines to remove the excess build up of dead and organic material that has been de-composing over the year. For a few weeks the lawn may look slightly worse, but doing this operation will allow new fresh grass to flourish and it won’t be long before the lawn will look even better. It is a vital and necessary part of maintaining every lawn.

Disease control

The last few years have seen an increase in diseases with the onset of milder winters. Red thread is one disease. Not so dangerous but very unsightly. More dangerous is Fusarium. This appears over the winter (when most people are not looking at their lawn) and is often caused by the falling of leaves etc.

Worm control

Chemicals are very safe these days and even wormkillers do not actually kill worms! However, it suppresses the casting type worm that can make a mess of a lawn during wet weather. These casts can be swept using besom brooms or alternatively an application of a chemical.
